Getting Started - Step 1 - Select State
To determine insulation and building air-tightness recommendations for your new solar home. First select the State closest to your building site.

WALLS are all above grade exterior wall surfaces.
CEILING are the roof/ceiling assemblies exposed to the exterior.
PERIMETER are the floors that are slab on grade or crawl spaces.
BASEMENT WALLS are all exterior wall surfaces below grade.
NON-SOLAR WINDOWS are all non-south windows.
AIR CHANGES/HOUR refers to the tightness of the building shell and its resistance to the penetration of wind.
